Quick Answers Before You Book
Everything you need to know about mobile emissions testing and VIN inspections.
How much does mobile emissions testing cost?
Pricing varies by county and appointment type. Enter your ZIP code in the booking tool to see your exact price and current availability.
Can you renew my registration and give me my sticker?
Yes, for eligible vehicles. We can process On-The-Spot Renewal after your vehicle passes emissions, so you can receive your updated registration and sticker during the same visit—without a separate DMV trip.
Can you come today?
Same-day availability depends on your ZIP code, appointment type, and current schedule. Enter your ZIP code to see the next available times in your area.
Can you test multiple vehicles during one visit?
Yes. We can often test multiple household or business vehicles during one visit. Add the vehicles when booking or include the details in your appointment notes.
Do you offer a discount for multiple vehicles?
We may have multi-vehicle options depending on your area and appointment details. Contact your local service area or include your vehicle count in the booking notes so we can give you the best information.
Do you accept credit cards or tap to pay?
Yes. We accept credit and debit cards, including tap to pay.
Why don’t you serve Salt Lake or Weber County yet?
We are not currently able to provide mobile emissions testing in Salt Lake or Weber County because of local government program restrictions. We are working toward expanding service as those requirements allow.
Where do you offer VIN inspections?
We offer mobile VIN inspections throughout the Wasatch Front. Enter your ZIP code on our VIN inspection page to check availability, or contact us if your location is outside our regular service area.
Your Appointment
Mobile Emissions Test Questions
Know what to expect before your technician arrives.
How long does a mobile emissions test take?
Most emissions tests take about 10 minutes once your technician arrives. Because we come to your vehicle, there is no waiting room or line.
What do I need to have ready?
Please make sure your vehicle is accessible and can be safely tested where it is parked. Have your keys available. Your technician will guide you through anything else needed for the appointment.
Do I need to warm up my vehicle first?
No special preparation is usually needed. Just have the vehicle available at your scheduled appointment time. If there is anything unusual about your vehicle or parking location, add a note when booking.
What happens if my vehicle fails the emissions test?
We will explain the result and let you know the next step. Mobile Emissions is a testing service and does not perform repairs, so you can take the vehicle to a repair shop if repairs are needed.
Do you offer a free retest?
Yes. Every emissions test includes one free retest within 30 days if your vehicle needs one.
Are your emissions tests accepted by the Utah DMV?
Yes. We perform certified emissions testing, and passing results are transmitted electronically for your registration renewal.
Do I need an emissions test this year?
Requirements depend on your registration county, model year, fuel type, and vehicle eligibility. Visit your county’s service page for current requirements, or contact us if you need help before booking.
